With visitors concerned about Fukushima radiation possibly reaching Hawai’i's shores, the State has published a report to address concerns.
On March 22, preliminary EPA monitor results for Hawaii showed minuscule levels of an isotope that is consistent with the Japanese nuclear incident, but the EPA says that it is far below any level of concern for human health.
Today’s report from EPA shows similar traces of this isotope all the way over in Massachusetts. All levels within the US, including Hawaii, are thousands of times below any conservative level of concern.
Maui is 3,884 miles from Fukushima and the jet stream from Japan is well above the entire State of Hawaii.
