What’s the difference in staying in ‘Gay Friendly’ vs. Gay Owned?

Maui Sunseeker’s owner, Chuck Spence, is featured in a great interview on gaytravel.com’s blog with views on ‘gay friendly’ vs. gay owned.    The blog also discusses why LGBT Travelers love staying at the Maui Sunseeker LGBT Resort and Maui’s “Hotspots”

Its a great read that we hope you’ll enjoy.

Great article, and well spoken, Chuck. I visited Sunseeker back in February while on my first visit to Maui. I was just there for a brief tour but was treated so very well and was truly impressed with the property. I’m a retired “not-rich” gay male who is doing everything he can to stay with you for a week in 2012. I wish you nothing but the best in paradise.

Mahalo Nui Loa Bob. We sincerely appreciate your comments and your patronage. One great thing about our expansion is that we now have enough rooms that we can make some very affordable for our budget conscious guests. For example room 621 is in our brand new building, the Sugar Beach 600 Building and the rack rate for that room is currently between $99/night up to $135, depending on the time of year. Its a beautiful room but doesn’t have an ocean or poolside view, but the rest of the property has so many common areas you can use. With this room you have access to the pool area, the clothing optional roofdeck with dynamite Pacific Ocean sunsets, the lush gardens, so even on an affordable trip, you’ll enjoy all the same amenities, including free Wi-Fi. E komo mai, Bob…we hope this will bring you back to us over and over again!

The Oregonian had a large front page photo of two (elder) women who had lived together for a very long time, beaming because they could finally marry. I thought, surely no one can object to this!!! Governments are ultimately going to fail at trying to legislate love.
