Maui Sunseeker Wedding Packages

Hawaii Wedding and Civil Unions

Hawai’i is the number one destination for US and Canadian honeymoon couples, both straight and gay, for very good reason.  With its very mild tropical climate and fresh breezes full of exotic flower scents, the island romances you as soon as you step off the plane.  The warm Aloha attitude of the native Hawaiian people is so welcoming, they do not judge people. They merely love to share their paradise with all.

Hawaii was the first US state to propose same sex marriage way back in 1993, well ahead of any other, showing the beautiful nature of the Hawaiians.  This and many other reasons is why Conde Naste has ranked Maui as the number one island in the world for 17 out of 24 years and more couples prefer to honeymoon or celebrate an anniversary here than anywhere else in the world!  Effective January 1, 2012, Civil Unions in Hawaii are legal for ALL residents and NON residents.  Here are three important links regarding information on civil unions:

We have partnered with GayHawaiiWedding.com, a gay owned and operated company, to provide the superior service you deserve.  They have been performing wedding ceremonies for gay couples on Maui for over 16 years.  Feel free to book your ceremony using the links to Packages below or contact the Sunseeker staff at 1-808-879-1261 or by email with any questions.

We suggest beach ceremonies take place preferably in the morning or at sunset times. Mornings are best around 9am, afternoon weddings don't work well, with too many people on the beach and the beach is hot with no shade, and the sun overhead casts harsh face shadows.  Monday through Friday are the best days as the locals hit the beaches on the weekends affording less intimacy and privacy for the ceremony and photo shoot.

Your romantic Hawaii ceremony can be religious or non-religious.  Ceremonies begin with a welcome, traditional lei exchange, followed by the vows.  Couples repeat traditional or contemporary vows, or couples can recite their own.  Rings are then exchanged, followed by a brief closing.  You can select various island locations for your special day.  Our favorite is Po’olenalena Beach, which has a secluded side to it, allowing for more intimacy and privacy.

Package pricing ranges from $365 to $1,550.  There are many a la carte additions to make your day even more special.

Why do gay and lesbian couples, on a romantic escape, prefer to stay with the Maui Sunseeker LGBT Resort as opposed to a condo or a large ‘gay friendly’ resort?  First, they can be themselves and express their feelings for each other openly, anywhere on the property.  Even though the big resorts are ‘gay friendly’, their guests may not be.  To see two gay men or two lesbian women kiss in the pool at one of these resorts can create quite a stir at a straight resort.  At the Sunseeker, couples don’t need to deal with judgmental eyes, they can ‘feel free by the sea’. Secondly, Sunseeker is an adults only property with clothing optional pool and jacuzzi.  That means you can relax and enjoy paradise without dozens of screaming kids running around you, allowing you to enjoy the tranquility or create your own kind of fun.

We also operate the Sunseeker Activities concierge service (www.sunseekeractivities.com ), Hawaii’s only LGBT activity provider.  From booking a champagne sunset sail to a personal guide to escort only the two of you on a hike to a hidden waterfall, we can make this a honeymoon or an anniversary of your lifetime.   Before we launched Sunseeker Activities, we spent six months researching activity providers that were gay owned, gay operated or gay friendly that provide the best service so you and your love can enjoy being yourself anywhere on the island.   We promise you’ll love it.

And did we mention we’re in paradise?  Maui is so breathtakingly beautiful with all of her abundance of nature that you’ll just ooze a loving feeling while your thousands of miles away from any stress.
